Poor Little Rich Girl came by storm to the Yonge and Eglinton area when they opened in August 2009. They were one of the first young(ish) women’s clothing stores in the area that carried the latest trends and offered super stylish threads. Now, they’ve become a distinct part of the Yonge and Eg neighbourhood as the go-to place for fashion. Continue reading…
Did you get your hands on one of our Redpath frisbees this past weekend?
In one of our well documented acts of neighbourgood, we wanted to get the community active by handing out free frisbees to the unsuspecting residents of Yonge and Eg. We were out front of our sales centre on Sunday handing them out to anyone lucky enough to be passing by. Our neighbourhood is filled with great parks where you can throw a frisbee around, so we figured that would be the perfect freebie to give out to our friends at Yonge and Eglinton. Continue reading…

We’ve already told you about two great people that have helped 155 Redpath sell 70% of the building faster than any other development in the area, and now we want to continue telling you about the great people involved in our project. This week, we spoke with Matt Young, the Vice President of Development at CD Capital, and asked him 8 questions about himself, his hobbies, and his favourite part about our neighbourhood. Check it out.
1. Where’s your favourite lunch spot in the area?
MY: I love Boar Sandwiches. It’s a short walk south of Eglinton and can do no wrong when it comes to a good hearty sandwich. My mouth is wattering thinking about it.
2. How do you stay in shape?
MY: Any mornings I don’t have early meetings I try to get to the gym for a quick workout. I really enjoy rock climbing and snowboarding, so depending on the season that’s where I like to get the blood pumping.
3. What is your favourite radio station?
MY: I bounce between a bunch of stations. Usually top 40 or the edge.
4. Do you use public transit or are you a commuter?
MY: I do a mix. I’m all over the place for meetings, so I plan my mode of transport around the day and where I’m going. If I can avoid my car I do. Driving in the city is painful and I have an innate ability to get ticketed, and towed.
5. What is your favourite food truck in Toronto?
MY: I’m a fan of Fidel Gastro’s. We used them for a community BBQ last summer, and I’ve gotten to know the owner Matt over the past year. Great guy, doing some really interesting things in the culinary world….and the pad thai fries. Wow.
6. What is your favourite Toronto sports team?
MY: Not to be a bandwagoner, but I like winners. The Raptors have ignited a spark in the hearts and minds of Torontonians this year and I’m behind them. Just watched game 5 against the Brooklyn Nets. Talk about exciting!
7. What can’t you leave your house without?
MY: My phone and laptop. I work remotely a lot so I need to be connected.
8. In 140 characters or less tell us what is the best part of Yonge and Eg.
MY: Yonge & Eg is one of the most connected areas of the city in the middle of its renaissance. You get the feeling that this is the future of Toronto.
Every year, BILD, the Building Industry Land Development Association, honours the many developers in Toronto that are working to build homes for people that are looking to live in our great city. This year, the 34th annual BILD Awards took place on Saturday April 25th and we were on hand along with our peers to celebrate the great work that has been done in our city this year – not to mention we were nominated ourselves.
